At the Queensland Blind Association Inc., we believe a a donor's right to keep their personal information private is extremely important. We are committed to protecting and maintaining the privacy, accuracy, and security of the personal information of donors.
The Queensland Blind Association Inc. is bound by the Privacy Act 1988. Any information, both confidential and personal, that we collect will be handled in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) contained within the Privacy Act.

This Privacy Policy sets out how the Queensland Blind Association Inc. complies with its obligations under the Privacy Act 1988 regarding the collection, use, disclosure, storage, access, and security of the confidential and personal information of donors.
Collecting Donor details
We collect personal information to process donations and issue receipts.
These may include;
Name
Address and / or email address
Collecting of Payment Information
Donations are made online, over the phone and through the mail.
The Association will only take payment information that is necessary for payment of donations from donors. This can be in the form of credit card, Paypal and direct credit to our bank account.
Donations made online
All payments through our website are to be made by Paypal, credit card or direct deposit to our bank account.
When you submit your Paypal/credit card payment details, these details will be transferred to our payment provider WooCommerce and your payment data will be collected and processed securely by them. You should make sure that you are aware of WooCommerce’s terms and conditions, which are different from our own, to ensure you are comfortable with how they will process your personal data before you make a donation.
Donations paid using credit card over the phone
Credit card details are highly sensitive information and the Association respects the trust that donors place in us when providing these details over the telephone.
QBA will not retain credit card details for single payment donations.
Policy Review and Improvement
The Association may review and update this Policy to reflect changes to legislation or internal process improvements. Typically, this review will occur at least once a year.
