2026 Census Materials available for people who are Blind or have Low Vision

The 2026 Census is scheduled for Tuesday 11 August 2026. To help people who are blind or have low vision complete the Census, the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) has produced a range of accessible information and materials.

  • You can request a braille or large print form via the ABS Census online contact form or over the phone on 1800 181 227.
  • Request braille forms from the ABS (Grade 1 and Grade 2):
    • Braille Census Household Form
    • A blank answer booklet to provide your responses using a brailler
    • Braille Help with Census questions booklet.
  • Or complete the Census online.  Information about completing the Census online can also be found on the ABS Census website.
  • Audio resources of Census materials are also available to listen online or download from the ABS.
  • The ABS website has been designed to work with screen readers, keyboard navigation and a range of assistive technologies. This includes Jaws, VoiceOver, Talkback and Dragon Naturally Speaking (v13 or later) with Edge on Windows.
